Movement to the Sound of Inaudible Music

Performance in Galleri Bokboden, student gallery in Bergen.
In collaboration with Asa Shimada.

Dancing in an empty room.

Two speakers were placed outside of the gallery.
The sound was the sound of our movement and breath.

The performance lasted two hours and stood for two days.

Please come in...

Please come in
Relax
Look carefully

Sit down
Listen

The framed photographies are stills from the project "This is not a dream"

Sound installation.
Improvised abstract sounds from a sound performance workshop held by artist Fast Foward (See and listen to the video documentation !).
(At the end of the workshop we were located in a room for 5 hours.
We brought along objects and instruments and for 5 hours we were making sounds with whatever we could find and think of.
The recordings are quite interesting and very "uncontrolled")

The sound was a curious contrast to the homely, intimate atmosphere.

This is not a dream

Every morning I walked past this place.
I kept wonder what it was.
It's kind of in the middle of nowhere.
It's not a bus stop.
Maybe just a place for people to wait?

Experiment on silence, no.1

At Torgallmenningen in the center of Bergen.

A woman observes and asks: "But what is your message???"
We continue in silence.

So what about is your manifestation?
My intention was to have the police performing with us. But apparently you need to have a violent subject (for example racism) to acchieve their presence. OR you can rent police men to escort your manifestation "IF your battle is well important since they are generally low on crew",
they told me.

Workshop, Spode factory 08.09.12 - 28.09.12

10 days workshop at Spode factory in Stoke-on-Trent; a former pocelain factory that shut down in 2009. The workshop was part of the artistic research project called Topographies of the Obsolete, organized by Bergen Academy of Art and Design.

Constructions.
Collaborative experiment with Yeong Bin who studies in Kiel.
About testing out the space and its physical limits.
About our capacity to construct and collaborate.

Working with different sets of rules on communication and methods for how to construct.
Time limitation.

Throwing.
Performative experiment with a found throwing wheel.

The act of throwing. About the action itself.
For four days I was throwing cup-like shapes and throwing them to the ground.
Circles of creation and destruction.

When the factory shut down in 2009 many people lost their jobs. People who had developed incredible skills throughout generations were forced to find a job elsewhere.

Public garden. First experiment.

Mobile raised beds builded with found wood from an old house.

Event the 27.05.12: Opening of a small temporary garden. People are encouraged and invited to take part.

Some people participate by planting plants (here basil) in the beds.

Small signs with information about the plants.

The project stayed only for about two weeks.
The area is under the Art Academy's possession and those responsible were not fond of my intervention.
They want the grass to be neat and green!
