This installation was part of the exhibition Work Study (Exercises in Creating a Short Circuit) Part 2 in Room 8, Bergen, 3rd - 13th of April 2014. The exhibition was made possible by Sabine Popp and invited artists were Clare Reynolds, Kate Lynch, Carl Fedarb and myself.
Fragments of conversations. Text and sound.
‘In Process’ is based on conversations with
people from Stoke-on-trent and looks at descriptions of motion and time in
different types of work. Personal stories have been translated into fragmented
text pieces, which again have been transformed into new sound recordings. I'm interested in the consequences of efficiency in large scale production and in my project I'm questioning the situation of the individual and the risque of becoming objectified or dehumanized.
